Neck Liposuction

Neck Liposuction

How is a neck liposuction done?

Excess fat in the neck area is removed using a vacuum device. Thus, the tissue under the chin is emptied. Then this tissue is tightened and the procedure is completed in this way. It does not cause any harm to vessels, muscles or nerves.

The duration of this procedure is directly related to the amount of adipose tissue that needs to be removed. However, it usually takes less than 1 hour. This procedure, which is performed under the local anaesthesia, gives very successful results.

Who are eligible for a neck liposuction procedure?

Factors such as hereditary causes, obesity, frequent weight fluctuations, age may cause fat accumulation in the neck. Excess fat accumulation under the skin can also be seen in thin people. This unwanted adipose tissue is resistant to diet and exercise. Therefore, it requires a surgical procedure.

Those who have a systematic disease, individuals under the age of 18, pregnant women or those with suspected pregnancy are not eligible for a neck liposuction procedure. Apart from the above mentioned, everyone can opt for this procedure to have a desired aesthetic appearance.

Things to Consider after a Neck Liposuction Procedure

  • Most people can return to work on the third day after surgery. On the first day after surgery, contact of the neck area with water should be avoided. The next day, you can take a shower with warm water. But of course, you should consult your doctor first.
  • Care should be taken and pressure should not be applied while drying the area.
  • The patient should also pay attention to proper nutrition in order to prevent the reoccurrence of the fat removed by the surgery. The patient should consider the doctor’s recommendations and should not forget to consume plenty of fluids.
  • After surgery, patients should not neglect getting regular checks.
  • Activities such as swimming, pilates and fitness should be avoided for a period of 1 month. Short-term and light exercises may be preferred.
